  • I just was fired from my job: What should I do?

Work is an essential part of life. Considering the time it takes to sleep and enjoy free time, work is a big part of life. Therefore, it is very important to be motivated to work. The workplace is where the three “work motivation theories” will be introduced later.

We already know that it is not only a way of gaining financial stability by work but also closely related to personal satisfaction. That’s why enjoying work should be the basics. This is why it is more motivating.

In addition, work motivation does not guarantee the well-being of employees alone. In fact, it benefits the company as well. If you’re looking for ways to be motivated, research-based motivational theories will help you achieve your goals.

What is work motivation?

Work motivation refers to the desire or inherent power to use mental and physical resources to lead a voluntary work to achieve a goal.

The more motivated employees are, the better they can do. In most cases, this also leads to productivity, competitiveness, self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-achievement.

1;Adams’s Fairness Theory

There are major hypotheses about J. Stacy Adams’ theory. Rightly, work motivation is determined by the work that employees perform, the rewards they will earn, and how they compare with their peers.

This comparison will strengthen or weaken the motivation, and consequently affect their behavior. Better compensation means employees will invest more energy in their work. However, if the rewards are not very good, you will lose the motivation to work without feeling the value of your own. You may end up quitting your job.

The motivation here comes from fair treatment and the satisfaction of work. Therefore, it is important to value employees.

If you choose a job you love, you won’t have to work any day in life.

2. Hersberg’s Motives – Hygiene Theory

This theory emphasizes how important it is for people to feel satisfied about their profession and goals. By doing so, they can identify what is not accomplished or what is unsatisfactory.

Federich Hersberg defined hygiene as a side that satisfies one thing but does not motivate it. This includes wages, peer-to-peer relationships, stability, supervision, and motivation.

He defined job promotion, workplace recognition, responsibility, the job itself, opportunities for growth, and more as motivational factors. These factors increase satisfaction and consequently strengthen the motivation.

3. McClelland’s Need Theory

This theory is one of the most popular theories related to business motivation theory. McClelland presented this theory by comparing the behavior of executives who worked for different types of companies. He concluded that employees needed to meet a number of requirements to be motivated.

Its requirements include efficiency and performance improvement, a balance between power and recognition, challenges and successes, and a sense of belonging and a bond with colleagues. And the staff expect sto15 to be met.

Work Motivation Theory: Conclusions

The previous three theories are the most important motivational theory. Learning more about this and applying it will help the company as well as efficiency and productivity.
